Three notables on this photo. Second from the left is my paternal grandfather, Jack Levey. Middle, Brian Clough. Second from right Stuart Dryden, post-master extrodinaire.
I went, with Max & Chris, to see Forest play Yeovil at the City Ground on Saturday. Forest needed to win and needed Doncaster to lose to Cheltenham in order to gain automatic promotion to the Championship (2nd Division in old money).
Forest won 3-2. Doncaster lost 2-1.
I've never seen 28,500 people go so nuts en-masse before. It was an incredible atmosphere. Probably one of the best games to watch, just for the atmosphere in the ground, that I remember. I will be going a bit more frequently next season.
Really happy for Forest, it's a long way from the glory days of the late 70s and 80s, but it felt as good as the time we won the European Cup in it's own way.
Anyway, thanks must go to Nigel Doughty, the chairman who has pumped more than £40m into Forest.

The man on the left of the photo. is the club secretary - can't think of his name! but the one on the right is Brian Appleby Q.C. I won't comment further.....

The secretary is Ken Smales. He is still alive and has a web site which I think you can link into from the Forest web site, which has loads of pictures, some with Poppa.

Oh and of course Stuart Dryden's daughter Ruth was my first girlfriend....though she might struggle to remember that this was so!! (I took her to Goose Fair, a school celeidh and that was it) I did know how to give a girl a good time in those days!
