The Lagoon photo is very good too, but choosing the best out of outstanding bunch is tough. (if anyone is wondering what the frak I'm talking about, you should visit Cam's Blog.)
I suppose the Sombrero Galaxy is my favourite. It's a shame that from my current latitude I can't see the Jewel Box any more. It is the most spectacular single thing I've seen through a telescope (in Charleville, earlier this year).
