Undeniable posted this on his Blog. his list of successors worries me a little more than a lot.
Lets get it straight (no pun intended), David Morrissey is cop-starring in this year's Christmas Special, it is called "The Next Doctor", and he plays the titular character.
Without wishing to provide spoilers, no, he is not the eleventh Doctor.
Robert Carlyle would be shit. He has been shit in everything he's been in apart from Trainspotting, where he was wonderful. Lets be honest, Hamish McBeth was bloody awful, and Carlyle was awful in it. So no. Not him.
Patterson Joseph? Who? Maybe.
James Nesbitt. No, just no no no..... No.
He's just too annoying for words, he is far too smug and James Nesbitty.
Catherine Tate... Why? No. The Doctor is not a female character, changing the gender of The Doctor is unecessary and undesirable. Why not just bring Doctor Donna back in her own right as a character? I'm sure The Moff will provide us with new and varied characters without the need to dip into the RTD canon.
Rhys Ifans. The short answer is 'no'. The long answer is 'oh fuck NO!' Are you insane? Jesus! He is a talentless crap-bag. Do you want to kill the show? No.
John Simm. Oh yes, but difficult, as we have discussed in the past, but he would be wonderful. Unlikely.
So, what about:
Alexander Siddig
Jack Davenport
Robert Bathurst
or even....
David Walliams.
